Musical Throwdown

Hi, folks. Not sure where my manners have been lately, but here's the deal. From what I can understand, there will be no practice this week. However, you are playing songs that are familiar by now (Bonnie, can you fill in what they are? Thanks). Also, Good Shepherd Idol is coming up, and the acts are pouring in. Did you know that we're looking at a couple of acts from Grace and Elwood? If not, please do add them in, as they would like to be involved. Lots of acts, which is good news.

Also, my sermon theme for next Sunday: As you may (or may not) know, we're looking at Luke 13:1-9, where Jesus talks about the fig tree that does not bear fruit. I'll be talking about the way in which people persuade one another (parents with "just two more bites", kids with "Just five more minutes") and talk about the mercy of God through the gardener: "Let it alone this year until I fertilize it, then if it doesn't bear fruit next year, cut it down. Come on, just one more year..."

Okay, just so you know, Grace and Elwood would like to secure spot #13 at Good Shepherd Idol, to do some things. That sounds okay to me, Bonnie, how about you?

Actually I thought they wanted to be earlier in the evening so I moved them to Number 4. You are Kari are number 13 now. I can notify our MC if I need to do some more changes.

Did you hear back from the Trenholm family? I had left a message but I haven't heard anything.

We are practicing at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. We are repeating 3 songs that we have just sung and the other 3 are easy. Heart of Worship, Refiner's Fire, All Heaven Declares, Our Father, Psalm 3 and Lord Reign in Me.
