Hi, folks. Nice to see so many of you there this last Sunday, and again, my apologies about anything that might have been a disaster with the sound board. Possibly all of it. Be that as it may, I am much more comfortable with it now, and can easily run it the next time I'm not preaching, or whatever. Be that as it may, the next Sunday is already creeping up on us, and I'm greatly looking forward to it (because my vicarage supervisor from the seminary will be here, to watch me preach, and to grade me. Yipes!)
Be that as it may, we are approaching music time once more. As you may (or may not) know, I will be preaching on Jeremiah 17:5-8, about planting ourselves in the desert when we have the opportunity to be planted by a stream. I'm kinda thinking about using a clip from star wars, but I don't really know how I'm going to manage doing it. We'll see.
Practice time....any thoughts? I'm open to suggestions. I'm also open to suggestions about Good Shepherd Idol. I'll be promoting the business out of it this Sunday, but how many confirmed acts do we have ? I'll be there for one, at least, and I know the Ulrich boys have something worked out. Is there anything else? Let me know what you know about, and if there's anyone I should be targeting for an act. Whatever I can do to make it work, y'know?
God bless your week, and thanks to Nadine for all her playing thus far. In case you hadn't heard, Nadine is departing from Good Shepherd, to pursue church elsewhere. Not sure where just yet, but she'll let us know.
Vicar Jim.

Dennis and I just spoke regarding music this week. Practice will be Thursday @ 6:30 p.m.
I still only have one act for Idol.
Vicar Jim, will you be able to get those packages out this week or do you need me to do something yet? I would like to hand them out at practice. V Jim would you have time to call Michael Kup re practice. I have a feeling he hasn't been on the blog yet.
Thanks
Bonnie
Hi Bonnie, Mike, Dennis, Etc.
I have those packages together. They're looking sharp. THanks for including the CDs with them, that makes everything a lot easier - it'll also help me to belt the songs out a little better, too! I will call Michael Kupchanko, and let him know about all this bloggishness. I will also, hopefully, be checking for acts for idol - but I don't really know who does what (I haven't been here long enough to know).
Bonnie,
I have your list of people who might be interested in throwing together an act for the Good Shepherd Idol. That's good, and I'll be contacting them. We'll also be using the Faith Life Financial matching grant system to secure a doubling of whatever we come up with. That's good news.
Can I leave it in your hands to come up with "Judges?" Or would we just want to go with a Ben Mulroney kind of thing?
